a member of the following: Campus Crusade for Christ, College Democrats of America, Campus Mime Ministry, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., and served as a campus role model.  In 1999 she was crowned Miss University of Maryland Eastern Shore.  She used her official platform of education as Miss UMES to represent her university by serving as an advocate for collegiate education to under-represented communities.  Her love and passion for service and campus ministry did not end there.

 

Her academic background inspired her career and ministry in education.  In 2001, she became an Administrator with The Johns Hopkins University, School of Public Health in Baltimore, M.D.  Her highly skilled background and ambition brought her to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area where she worked at The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies.  In 2008, Lady Shawnetta graduated from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Education, with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling.  During her training, she counseled families and served at-risk youth populations teaching anger management and life skills classes.  Additionally in 2008, Lady Shawnetta began her federal career with the Food and Drug Administration where she currently serves as a Public Health Analyst.

 

Through the years, Lady Shawnetta has served her local church as Director of Children’s Ministry, Children’s and Youth Ministry Coordinator, Events Planning Ministry Leader and Administrative Assistant to the Youth Pastor.  She created an events planning ministry guide, as well as taught classes and facilitated workshops within the church.  She has been a mentor and role model within the church working with various ministries to encourage the next generation of leaders – our children.  In 2012, Lady Shawnetta joined a delegation of missionaries in El Salvador where she assisted in teaching Vacation Bible School and served as a member of the triage team, identifying the medical needs of the people.

 

Lady Shawnetta has a passion for strong marriages and strong families.  She is an advocate of maintaining balance between ministry and marriage.  She believes the foundation of effective ministry is healthy families.  When not serving her church, Lady Shawnetta actively participates in the lives of her children, serving as a devout Basketball Mom and Girl Scouts Volunteer.

 

Lady Shawnetta is so blessed to be married to her college sweetheart and best friend, the Rev. Dr. Albert P. Jackson, Senior Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia.  Together they are the blessed parents of Albert Darnell, Gabrielle Michelle and Joi Kyra Jackson.

First Lady, Shawnetta M. Jackson, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science in 2000.  During her tenure there, Lady Shawnetta was a very active member on campus.  She interned with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and was
